Shalimar in Darmstadt

By far the worst Indian food we have ever eaten on this globe. We love Indian food and know that it cannot always taste original like in India. But an Indian meal entirely without spices has never come before us. Maybe it's because it's Christmas and the chef is on vacation. But then please close the kitchen completely. Because this meal was an insult to the taste buds and the entire Indian subcontinent.

We picked up food here today. The butter chicken is amazing. Then I licked the bowl. We agreed: very tasty, we'll be back!

Got advertising from this restaurant even though my mailbox says "No Ads".

Samosa was good... Biryana was like putting couple of chicken pieces on top of colored rice.. tasteless...never go for biryani.

The selection of drinks we found great! The waitresses are always very friendly and very obliging. That makes me happy every time I visit. The armchairs are very comfortable and the distance between the places I find very reasonable. There you get in no way the feeling, like fish in the can to eat dinner. Best oriental restaurant far and wide! Parking is available in front of the restaurant, the restaurant is bright and well maintained, the food is great and the service works quickly. Finally found the best Indian / Pakistani restaurant in Darmstadt. Top food, not cheap but worth every penny! You have found new regulars.

Food was good. very mild taste. I ordered lamb tikka masala, Chicken jalfrezi and Seekh tikka with naan and rice. Food quality was good but quantity was okay. I don’t eat Indian/Pakistani food in Europe as it’s tasteless but at shalimar it was good if not the best, at the end finished off with Rass Malaye.

It is a Pakistani cuisine restaurant and not Indian. Service was very good and staff was friendly. But food was not good. I ordered dal fry.. But it was like moong dal .. Slimy taste Didn't like it much. Overall experience was very average. I think food is twicked to German style. Good luck guys.

Absolutely recommended! We have been looking for a good Indian restaurant for some time. We have found it well. The food was delicious and the price was absolutely fair. We were received very nice and the service was the whole stay very attentive and coming. The restaurant is not very big, but with typical Indian decoration and very homelike atmosphere. There are also a few places outside, but I would classify these as semi comfortable because they are right on the road. I have not tested it myself. One thing is for sure, we will be back ???

Small restaurant, comfortable and easy. Good Pakistani and Indian style food. Sit and order the small portion and ask for less sharp chillies if you are not use to of it and add more if you like. If you are a few friends together, order different things and check each other food to taste the variety. Enjoy. Very friendly staff.

One of the best indian food restaurants in darmstadt and that's coming from an indian :) Karahi chicken is to die for. They can customize the preparation based on your taste. One last thing would be a great value for money.
